Xavier Thorpe, played by Percy Hynes, in the Netflix show Wednesday gets a special mention in the new season of the serial after his removal following harassment complaints against him.
After season two recently dropped on Netflix, Hynes took to Instagram and re-shared a picture of the cast expressing his excitement to watch the new season.
He wrote ““I had so much fun working on this show. I can’t wait to watch season two. Much love.”
Hynes played the rather important role of Xavier Thorpe in season 1 of Wednesday.

His character’s mysterious aura led many to believe he was the prime suspect behind the gruesome murders taking place in Nevermore – revealed otherwise in an interesting turn of events.
Like all the students at Nevermore Academy, he also had a superpower – which enabled him to bring his drawings to life.
After being accused of s**ual harassment by multiple women, Hynes was removed from the show.
However, his character does get a special mention.
It is revealed in the second season that Xavier moves to Switzerland to attend the Reichenbach Academy, after his parents removed him from Nevermore Academy due to safety reasons.
Moreover, season one’s ending left great room for potential further development of Xavier Thorpe’s character in season two.

It left the door open for Wednesday and Xavier’s friendship to possibly develop into something more, while also teasing the idea that Xavier could be her stalker.
However, with his absence in season two, the romance plotline is completely scrapped and the stalker storyline is also wrapped up by episode two.
Apart from the academy in Switzerland, Xavier is mentioned a few more times.
He sends Wednesday a gift and letter, in which he writes that he tried texting her but she never picked, which he assumes is because she lost the phone he gifted her earlier (in season one’s ending).
The letter read: “”I tried texting, but I guess you lost the phone I gave you. Consider this my goodbye gift.”
The gift that he sends is a painting of a one-eyed crow, which is also crucial to the current season two plotline – as Wednesday keeps seeing the crow everywhere.
With regards to this painting, he wrote in the letter that: “The image suddenly flashed in my head. Don’t ask me how I know or what it means, but it’s connected to you I’m sure.”
In relation to this painting, Wednesday does mention Xavier a couple of times.
However, fans are not happy and have highlighted that he is barely mentioned and that everyone seems to have moved on as though he never existed.

In early 2023, he faced s**ual misconduct allegations, which the 23-year-old Canadian actor denied.
A number of women took to X to share their experience in a series of now deleted tweets.
However, months later the actor denied the allegations, and said that they were a series of false accusations that have also ended up affecting his friends and family as they faced multiple threats from people online.
He also wrote on Instagram: “Underage photos of me were used, and examples of me acting in character were presented as hateful.”
“My friend Jane was falsely portrayed as a victim, and her attempts to set the record straight have been ignored.”
“She gave me permission to include her in this message.”
He claimed that these false claims portrayed him as someone he was not, and also took away from actual victims by creating an environment of mistrust.
“The rumours are false. I can’t accept the portrayal of me as someone bigoted, or criminally negligent of people’s safety.”
“These are the kind of baseless, harmful claims that can create mistrust toward victims.”

Hynes also expressed gratitude towards all those who have believed in him and aided him in sharing the facts.
“It’s very distressing to know that this misinformation has upset people. I’m really thankful for everyone who’s stood by me and helped share the facts.”
“Harassment of my family, friends and coworkers needs to stop please. Thank you for taking the time to read this.”
Following all this scandal, Percy Hynes was removed from the show, however Netflix never confirmed the reason behind axing him.
However, these mentions are all there is to him, and the character will not be returning to Nevermore Academy as confirmed by co-showrunner Alfred Gough in an interview.
While the shooting for Wednesday’s season 3 has also begun as recently revealed by Netflix, the cast has not yet been revealed.
Anything is possible in the world of cinema, so he may or may not be hitting your screens for season 3!
