The singer made the announcement during her final Munich show
Adele has shared a devastating update on the future of her career during a live show in Munich.
The ‘Someone Like You’ singer, 36, is currently nearing the end of a string of residency shows in Las Vegas, with last night’s (31 August) performance in Munich marking her final planned concert on European soil.
During the show, Adele took a moment to give fans an update on her future career plans – revealing that she is planning to take an extended break from touring and making music.
Reflecting on her career so far, the ‘Easy on Me’ singer said: “I’m not the most comfortable performer, I know that, but I am very fucking good at it.
“And I have really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now, which is the longest I’ve ever done and probably the longest I’ll ever do.”
The singer then went on to address what’s next for her careerwise, and it turns out she’s planning to take an extended break.
“I have 10 shows left after this,” she continued. “After that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time.
“I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break, and I will fantasise about these shows and any shows that I’ve done over the last three years. It has been amazing, I just need a rest.”
She then went on to explain the reason why she decided to take a break, adding that she wanted to spend time living the ‘new life’ she’d built for herself.
“Why am I so emotional watching this,” a second fan commented, while a third added: “I’m gonna miss her.”
Adele has plenty to look forward to during her extended break, with the singer previously announcing her engagement to American sports agent Rich Paul earlier at the Munich shows.
During a performance on 9 August, a fan jokingly proposed to the singer, to which she replied: “I can’t marry you, I’m already getting married.
“But I appreciate it.”
