She said, extending “I will have a normal conversation with you,”: “I can drink 25 bottles of wine in one night and I’ll be fine.”
It was easy to see that Adele’s claim was an exaggeration of her playfulness and humor. She said that she wasn’t actually that good at drinking wine, yet had a low tolerance for liquor.
With three liquor drinks, I am 25 sheets to the wind. “I’m going to another planet.”
She joked that she could become ‘vicious’ after only 3 tequila shots and be hungover for several days. She said,
‘If I don’t have any other plans, I’m just going to become a drunk,’ I say, ‘so I better find something else to do.’ Tequila makes me aggressive. When I have tequila, I’m ready to throw punches. It makes me f___ vicious.”
“I’ve got hangover anxiety for about five days after,” she said. ‘I turn away absolutely from tequila,” she says.
In a humorous tone she stressed that she was British and that she loved to drink.
‘It’s crazy because I’m a Brit, I can drink anyone under the table, I just can’t handle it,’ she says.
Adele has a past of informing funny stories about her drinking patterns. Even joked that if her residency ends and she can’t find other activities to occupy her free time, she might end up becoming a “day drinker”.
“Two weeks and I’m retiring, I’m going to be a day drinker, I don’t drink as much as I want to,” she said.
It’s not the first time she’s made candid comments about her relationship with alcohol. “For me, I was always very fascinated by alcohol,” she said in an older interview with Vogue. That’s what kept my dad away from me. I always wanted to know what was so great about it” so.
