There has been long-standing speculation about the nature of Andy Cohen and John Mayer’s close relationship and now the TV star, Cohen has finally addressed the rumor of romantic relationship.
The famous television host, producer and author, Andy Cohen is best known for his work with Bravo, where he serves as a host as well as a producer. He is also the producer and host of the late night talk show “Watch what happens live with Andy Cohen” and executive producer of the Real housewives franchise.
Cohen, reality TV mastermind, is openly gay and a prominent figure in the LGBTQ+ community. He came out publicly about his s*xuality in 2009 during the first reunion of Real Housewives of New Jersey. When Watch What Happens Live debuted, he became the first ever openly gay broadcaster to host the live show on television. The 56 year old never got married but have two kids with surrogacy

Being a prominent figure in showbiz and having big fame attracts rumors and reports in the media. One particular speculation is about the 47 year old American singer-songwriter John Mayer, who is famous for his versatile music that blends pop, blues and rock influences. The two artists have been closely linked together for years. Billboard reports their relationship dates back to 2015, when they both went together on a road trip to see rock band Grateful Dead. Previously, when asked on The Howard Stern Show about his friendship with Mayer, Cohen responded,
“I am in love with John Mayer, we are in love with each other.”
On the same show, when Stern remarked about the two going on camping quite frequently and asked if anything sexual happened between the pair, Cohn swore on his young children’s life and turned down the speculation.
On another occasion CNN inquired about their relationship. The A-list host responded,
“Listen, we have a very sweet friendship, and we are together all the time. I think that I was not surprised because we also have a great love for each other. So, it just seems like the obvious assumption.”

Recently, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cohen was yet again asked about the strong speculation surrounding their relationship with a blunt question:
“People seem dubious that a straight rock star can have a close platonic relationship with a gay TV personality.”
Cohen responded,
“Let them speculate! I honestly love John Mayer, and he loves me. But because we’re so affectionate towards each other, people don’t know what box to put that in. They assume we’re sleeping with each other, which we are most definitely not.”

In response to this interview, Mayer also responded by writing an email to the writer, THR’s Co-Editor in Chief, Maer Roshan.
“I’d like to think they’re sophisticated enough to see a relationship like ours without assuming it must include a s**ual component. That turns the concept of being gay into an ignorantly two-dimensional one, which I know you know it’s not. I don’t question that at all.”
Mayer concluded the email with: “Reinforcing the idea that any gay/straight relationship needs qualification that it’s not s**ual devoids everyone involved of their dignity.”
