A 34 year old woman in São Paulo, Brazil, Marina Smith, says that she has been prevented from attending her friends annual Christmas dinner because they feel she is too beautiful and single.
Marina, who has almost one million followers on social media, says her friends are concerned she will ‘tempt’ their husbands and boyfriends at the festive gathering.
According to the influencer, she heard about the snub from her friend’s boyfriend.
Marina said she was left out of a WhatsApp group set up to organize the dinner.
Later, the friend’s boyfriend said the group chat had talked about her possibly being at the event, and some women were worried that her beauty might lead to issues with their partners.

Marina told Mail Online: ‘They’ve banned me from Christmas dinner because the women think I’ll steal their men.’. “They’re afraid I’d turn their husbands and boyfriends into leeches.”
Despite her glamorous lifestyle and a large following, Marina hasn’t been single since early 2024.
She said she had been in a previous relationship that ended poorly and cited financial disagreements.
She said: “My last boyfriend charged me for a café bill we shared whilst we were together.” “It got tiring, because he always liked to split everything.”
Marina says while she knows it is tough being single, she isn’t desperate for a relationship.
“I don’t mess around with just any man.” “And I’m not a needy woman, I’m not in a rush,” she added.
But she has been excluded from Christmas celebration and she feels betrayed by her friends.
“I wouldn’t be able to go out and take trips with my friends anymore because they have partners now,” Marina said. “Now that I’m single and beautiful, they find it an insecurity! ”

The former Miss BumBum winner, expressed frustration with the assumption being made about her intentions.
“We respect other people’s relationships,” she said. “They’ve never told me I’ve ever made advances toward their partners.” “It’s jealousy, I think, on their part,” I said.
She wants to sit down and talk with her friends and let them know she feels disrespected.
“I used to blindly trust my friends, but apparently, they didn’t trust me. Because they are going to lose the best friend they could have had it’s a shame”, she said.
Despite the conflict, Marina remains determined to enjoy her holiday season.
‘The answer is no! I hope they don’t change their minds and invite me,’ she declared.’ Right now, I’d rather be home alone for Christmas. ‘I’m a beautiful woman,’ yes, ‘but that’s no reason to leave me out,’ I said.
The model also said she dresses and wears makeup for herself, not for attention.
“The problem isn’t with me. ‘I am ‘too beautiful to be real,’” she said, ‘with the men who think.’
Marina says she hurt over the situation but has learnt who her true friends are.
For now, she’s happy enough to do Christmas her own way, without the inane drama.
