Colombian-American actress Sofia Vergara, best known for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in the TV comedy series Modern Family, has been accused of diva behaviour on set.
A guest named Kelly Mantle, who played a drag queen in a 2029 episode titled “The Last Halloween“, described Vergara as the “rudest celebrity” involving a wig-related meltdown.
“It was not the most pleasant experience I’ve ever experienced.”
She revealed on The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie and Katya Podcast.
“It wasn’t toward me.”
“It was the way that some of her staff were being treated.”
She recalled a moment where Vergaras showed hostility towards wearing hair pins to secure a wig. “In the episode, she’s wearing a wig, and they kept wanting to put bobby pins in it, and she kept telling them no bobby pins.”
“They yell action, and I’m supposed to put the crown on her hair.”
“So I put the crown on, and then they say cut, and she’s like, ‘Watch out for the wig!’”
“‘You’re putting the crown on my head!’”, which upset Vergara.
To which Mantle responded, “Well, girl, you should have put those bobby pins in.’”
Mantle later went on to say she had hoped it was just a bad day for the Colombian-American actress, adding that she is still “hilarious.”
“Maybe it was a bad day.”
“I’m just going to say it was a bad day.”
“Because she’s hilarious, and beautiful, and talented, and gorgeous.”
“I’m sure it was a bad day.”
Mantle is unfortunately not the first actress to come forward calling out Sofia Vergara.
Teresa Giudice, from The Real Housewives of New Jersey, also branded the Hot Pursuit star as being not very “humble.”
During her Podcast, Namaste B$tches, she gave a tell-all on the star when chatting with Melissa Pfeister.
“Sofia Vergara’s PR person and my PR person spoke together, and I guess the two of them said, ‘Let’s get a picture of Teresa and Sofia together.’”
Giudice recalled, “I didn’t want a picture with her.”
“I never ask to take a picture with anybody.”
“I didn’t care to take a picture with her.”
“I’m so not like that.”
“When we went to go take a picture, she was like standing in front of me,” she recalled.
“It’s like, ‘OK, that’s not how you take a picture.’”
“She was like, the most rudest woman I’ve ever met.”
She overheard Vergara say, “I saw her whole demeanour, and then I heard her say to her PR person, ‘Why you making me take a picture with that lady?’”
“You’re so not a humble person,’” she added.
“She forgot where she came from. She was so not a down-to-earth person.”
