Fans have been told by Ellen DeGeneres that she’s had a triple health diagnosis.
After taking a break from the limelight, the 66-year-old comedian is back on TV screens with her new Netflix special, Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval.
Earlier this year she made headlines when she said the comedy show marks the end of her Hollywood career.
DeGeneres told fans: “You’re not going to see me again. “I’m done’ after my Netflix special.”
Fans took to social media and sent well wishes after hearing the sad health update the talk show host shared during the special.

One fan writes: “Hope she gets better.”
“Hopefully she’s getting the help she needs,” another says. “Wishing her well.”
Everything changed for DeGeneres in 2020.
BuzzFeed exposés have investigated allegations of a toxic work culture, discrimination, and s**ual misconduct and harassment on the set of her once beloved program, The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The reports didn’t allege toxic behavior by DeGeneres herself but led to a ton of criticism aimed at the comedian.
The i reports she ended her show in 2022 due to falling ratings and the repercussions of reports of a toxic workplace.
In her new Netflix special, the talk show host talks about that chapter of her life and how she went into therapy afterward.

The comedian has been found to have a mental health condition, according to the therapy.
In her comedy special, she says: I may have OCD because a therapist told me so and I said, ‘Yes I am very organized,’ because I believed that was the O. I didn’t know what OCD was.”
When growing up, DeGeneres said she was raised in a religion that ‘doesn’t acknowledge diseases or disorders’ so ‘nobody talked about anything’ like that.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) involves patterns of unwanted thoughts and fears, called obsessions, that can lead people to do repetitive behaviors, also called compulsions, Mayo Clinic says.’
These obsessions and compulsions may be so persistent or severe that they get in the way of daily activities or cause the person marked distress.
‘On reflection I think my father might have suffered the same thing,’ DeGeneres said.

She recalls: If we were leaving the house he’d check the doorknob 15 times, he’d check the faucet 15 times. Lightning could strike and it could catch fire so he would unplug all the appliances before we left the house.
“They say it might be hereditary.”
She also said she has been diagnosed with ADHD.
In the special, she says: “I think I’m well adjusted because I obsess on things but I don’t have the attention span to stick with it and I quickly forget what I was obsessing about in the first place.”
“It sounds like it takes me all the way around to well adjusted, I think.”
According to Healthline, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD, for short) is ‘a mental health condition that can cause unusual levels of hyperactivity and impulsive behaviors.’.
If you have this condition, it may be difficult to concentrate on one thing for an extended period, or to sit still for long.
In the Netflix special, DeGeneres also talked elsewhere about a condition she’s been diagnosed with that makes her feel like she ‘could disintegrate in the shower.’

Finding Dory voice actor revealed she has osteoporosis after she got a bone density test.
Bones that have osteoporosis are weak and brittle — so brittle that they may break from a fall or, in some cases, from a simple act such as bending over or coughing. The Mayo Clinic explains that osteoporosis related breaks are most commonly experienced in the hip, wrist or spine.
“Bone is a living tissue that is being broken down and replaced all the time.” Osteoporosis is a condition in which the creation of new bone doesn’t keep pace with the loss of old bone.”
While there is no cure for osteoporosis, the condition’s symptoms can be controlled with medicine and lifestyle changes.
Opening up, DeGeneres says: “I don’t know how I’m standing up right now.” I’m like a human sandcastle. Disintegrate in the shower I could,” she said.
