Fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 are already over the moon with the speculations of its live-action adaptation being on its way (at least we can hope for this – fingers crossed). This would bring the epic narrative and rich characters from the virtual world of the game to the real world of actors and sets and fans can’t be happier.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, known for his charismatic and rugged screen presence, recently revealed his interest to play Arthur Morgan in the live-action adaptation of Red Dead Redemption.
In a recent convention, a fan asked if he would be interested in playing Arthur Morgan in the upcoming TV series adaptation given that the game adaptation industry is in full swing. The Walking Dead star, Jeffrey, answered with full excitement, “Oh f***, that’s the one I want to do!”
He added, “If the studio called him, he’d definitely say yes”
His interest in taking on the role of the game’s complex protagonist has sparked considerable discussion among fans. Jeffrey, while answering the fan, said, it’s “not even a question”. He is all eager to play the incredible game’s character Arthur Morgan. He continued, “One, I mean the only genre… my favorite genre is western. There’s not even a close second.”
While expressing his enthusiasm, he added, “My son plays that game, and it’s freaking awesome!”
He jokingly added he would even do it for “free in a heartbeat”. Instantly, he did mention that it is all jokes and he wasn’t being serious about the free part.
“Don’t actually f***ing tweet that out”, he clarified the audience erupting in laughter. He humorously mentioned he’ll be in an awkward state if the studio calls him and quotes his words from the interview that he is willing to do the role for free. He said, so when the studio calls, they’d be like ‘Well, we heard!’, and then I’d be like, “Okay…” teasingly expressing how he’d have no answer.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is not the only one in the fan-cast of the TV adaptation of one of the most popular games. Jensen Ackles, Hugh Jackman and Travis Fimmel have also landed themselves for the same role, again, in the fan-cast for now.
