Jim Carrey fans have been left doing a double take after discovering who the Hollywood star has married.

The 64-year-old actor has secretly tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend in a private ceremony in Los Angeles.

The marriage marks Carrey’s third trip down the aisle and comes just months after he publicly acknowledged Min Ah for the first time at the César Awards in Paris.

But while many fans have been quick to congratulate the newlyweds, others online have reacted very differently.

Some have described the relationship as ‘creepy,’ while others have revived one of the strangest conspiracy theories surrounding the actor in recent years.

And it all comes back to Carrey’s dramatic appearance at the awards ceremony earlier this year.

Jim Carrey’s career

Carrey has been one of Hollywood’s most recognisable comedy stars for decades.

After beginning his career as a stand-up comedian, the Canadian-born actor became widely known through the sketch comedy series In Living Color.

His film career exploded in the 1990s, with starring roles in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask and Dumb and Dumber.

He went on to become one of the industry’s biggest comedy stars, appearing in films including The Cable Guy, Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

But Carrey also demonstrated a more serious side to his acting.

His performances in films such as The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind earned him praise for moving beyond the broad comedy that had made him famous.

In more recent years, Carrey has stepped back from Hollywood and devoted more time to painting and living a quieter life.

That made his appearance at the César Awards in February particularly notable.

His past relationships

This isn’t the first woman Carrey has married; the actor married his first wife, Melissa Womer, in 1987.

The couple had one daughter, Jane Erin Carrey, before divorcing in 1995.

Carrey then married his Dumb and Dumber co-star Lauren Holly in 1996.

Their marriage lasted less than a year, with the pair divorcing in 1997.

The actor subsequently had several high-profile relationships without remarrying.

He was famously engaged to Renée Zellweger after the pair began dating following their work together on Me, Myself & Irene.

He later spent around five years with actress and model Jenny McCarthy.

Carrey also had a relationship with makeup artist Cathriona White, who died in 2015.

He subsequently dated actress Ginger Gonzaga, with the relationship ending after less than a year.

For years, however, Carrey appeared to have no intention of getting married again.

Jim once said he wouldn’t marry again

During a 2014 appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Carrey was asked whether he could see himself getting married for a third time.

At the time, he suggested that marriage was no longer something he was looking for.

“I just don’t see it as necessary at this point,” he said.

Carrey also said he wouldn’t “voluntarily go that way” again, although he acknowledged that he couldn’t predict what might happen if he met someone who completely changed his mind.

More than a decade later, that’s exactly what appears to have happened.

Who is Jim Carrey’s new wife?

Carrey has married Min Ah, an actress and artist who is also known as Minzi.

She has kept a relatively low profile, and little is publicly known about her personal life.

The pair were photographed together in Los Angeles as far back as February 2022, when they were seen leaving a charity comedy event hosted by Judd Apatow.

For several years, however, they largely kept their relationship away from the spotlight.

That changed in February 2026.

The couple appeared together publicly at the 51st César Awards in Paris, where Carrey received an honorary César for his contribution to cinema.

During his acceptance speech, Carrey thanked Min Ah and called her his ‘sublime companion,’ Metro reports.

He also told her: “I love you, Min Ah.”

The appearance was significant because it marked the first major public acknowledgement of their relationship.

Now, reports have confirmed that the couple have taken their relationship one step further.

Carrey and Min Ah married in a private Los Angeles ceremony, according to a spokesperson for the actor. People confirmed the marriage on September 30.

Min Ah is reportedly 32, meaning there is a 32-year age difference between the couple.

That detail has become one of the main talking points among people reacting to their wedding online.

Fans are calling the relationship ‘creepy’

Rather than simply discussing the surprise wedding, some social media users have focused on the couple’s age difference.

Carrey is 64, while Min Ah is reportedly 32.

That has prompted some people online to describe the relationship as ‘creepy,’ while others have questioned why the actor has chosen to marry someone considerably younger.

However, there is no indication from credible reporting that Min Ah or Carrey have any issue with the age difference.

The couple have kept their relationship private for years and have not publicly discussed the criticism.

Other fans have taken a much stranger route altogether.

The bizarre Jim Carrey ‘clone’ theory is back

Carrey’s wedding has coincided with the return of an bizarre internet theory claiming that the actor has been replaced by a clone or body double.

The speculation first gained attention after his appearance at the César Awards earlier this year.

Some viewers thought Carrey looked dramatically different from previous appearances.

He had a different hairstyle, a much smoother-looking face and no longer had the grey beard that fans had become accustomed to seeing.

His serious appearance and French-language acceptance speech only added to the online speculation.

Soon, social media posts began questioning whether the person on stage was actually Carrey.

Some even claimed he had been replaced by a clone.

The speculation was dismissed by people connected with the César Awards, while Carrey’s longtime publicist Marleah Leslie also rejected the claims.

The involvement of British drag and makeup artist Alexis Stone subsequently added another layer to the bizarre story after Stone posted images relating to a transformation into Carrey.

Those images were part of Stone’s performance-art and makeup work, rather than evidence that Carrey had been replaced.

Fans have now connected the two stories

Carrey’s wedding has given the old conspiracy theory a new lease of life.

As news of his marriage spread, some social media users began joking that Min Ah had married the supposed ‘clone’ rather than the real actor.

One commenter wrote: “So she’s into clones, nice to know.”

Another joked: “Would the real Jim Carrey please stand up?”

Others made even more bizarre claims about the actor being “gone” and the person who married Min Ah being a replacement.

One post read: “Jim never got married, that clone did though.”

Another asked: “Is that the real Jim Carrey or that weird a** Jim Carrey from a few months ago?”

The comments are based entirely on an unsupported internet conspiracy theory.

There is no credible evidence that the actor has been cloned, replaced or secretly disappeared.

Why the wedding has surprised fans

Part of the surprise surrounding Carrey’s marriage is that he had spent years making it clear that he wasn’t particularly interested in marrying again.

He also largely withdrew from the Hollywood spotlight and has spoken about enjoying his quieter lifestyle and painting.

Then, in February, he suddenly appeared at one of France’s biggest film ceremonies with Min Ah by his side.

Seven months later, the couple are married.

For some fans, the 32-year age gap has been the biggest talking point.

For others, it’s the fact that the wedding has arrived alongside the bizarre clone theory that began circulating after Carrey’s César Awards appearance.

But beneath the internet speculation, the basic facts are considerably simpler.

Jim Carrey, 64, has married Min Ah, 32, after keeping their relationship largely private for several years.

The couple have not publicly addressed the online reaction to their marriage.

And despite the strange theories circulating online, there is no evidence that anyone other than Jim Carrey himself walked down the aisle.
