Disney+ is all set to bring the nostalgia back to our screens. The exact date of premier has not been disclosed yet, but it looks like a few detail is leaking through the cracks. Apparently the revival is going to consist of four episodes.

The show which originally aired from 2000 to 2006 revolves around the chaotic life of a genius boy growing up in a dysfunctional family. Fans are super excited as the much awaited return of the sitcom is going to bring the chaotic charm back to screens. But this time, it’s also bringing something totally new to the table.

The upcoming revival is set to reunite familiar faces while introducing a groundbreaking new character. The new character is apparently going to be the first non-binary member of the Wilkerson family.

Fans took to social media to praise, with one user commenting, “Thrilled to see Malcolm in the Middle returning and embracing modern representation with a non-binary character!”

Another said, “I’m eager to see how the show integrates a non-binary character into the family dynamic. It’s a bold and necessary choice.”

One of the most exciting aspects of the revival is going to be the return of original cast. Frankie Muniz as fan favorite Malcolm, Bryan Cranston as the clueless Hal, and Jane Kaczmarek as the caring Lois. Fans are excited to see where life has taken the Wilkerson family, especially as they reunite for Hal and Lois’s 40th wedding anniversary.

While the revival is anticipated to maintain its originality, it also offers fresh perspectives to connect with the enormous fan following. The big addition to the upcoming series is the introduction of a non-binary family member. This marks a historic first for Malcolm in the Middle. Reports suggest the new character will be the youngest child in the Wilkerson family. This will bring a new angle to the show’s already diverse personalities.

The original Malcolm in the Middle was highly praised for its ability to blend comedy with deeper themes. By introducing a non-binary character in the revival, the show offers inclusivity. As the original series portrayed the ups and downs of family life in a raw and entertaining manner, with the addition of a non-binary character, the revival has the opportunity to explore new narratives while also maintaining the show’s signature wit.
