Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke has been removed from ITV’s reality TV Show Big Brother U.K after being at the center of controversies since the very beginning, the latest one leading to this decision by Big Brother.

Upon his arrival in the Big Brother house on 6th April, Monday, Rourke appeared to “ogle” presenter AJ Odudu, leading to many viewers criticizing his behavior.

Soon after, he passed inappropriate remarks regarding 21-year-old housemate JoJo Siwa’s sexuality. Upon learning that she dates women, he suggested that he could “change” her sexuality.

In Wednesday’s episode Rourke asked Siwa if she liked men or women, to which she replied:  “Girls. My partner is non-binary.”

He then told her: “If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore.”

However, Siwa stood her ground.

She responded: “I can guarantee I’ll still be gay and I’ll still be in a very happy relationship.”

But this did not stop Rourke, who retorted: “I’ll tie you up.”

The former Dance Moms star responded, “I dare you to try. You’ll be the one tied up.”

The situation further escalated when Rourke again passed another disturbing remark about Siwa during a conversation with housemate and Love Island UK star Chris Hughes.

Referring to Siwa, he said, “I’m going to vote the lesbian out real quick.”

Siwa, who overheard their conversation, replied: “That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning.”

As Rourke repeated himself, Hughes backed Siwa up, telling him off:

“No, you can’t do that, Mickey,” he said.

Siwa added, “You also can’t say that.”

Then Rourke got up, shouting: “I need a f—!” before gesturing to Siwa and adding, “I’m not talking to you.”

Hughes again stepped up, repeating, “Mickey, you can’t say that.”

This heated exchange made Siwa cry and she told Hughes that “it’s crazy to me that that still exists.” Hughes then comforted her, meanwhile Rourke was summoned to the diary room.

Here Big Brother confronted Rourke.

“Mickey, before you entered the Big Brother house, the rules regarding unacceptable language and behavior were explained to you,” a voice told him.

His remarks were read back, and Big Brother asked him, “Do you understand how this language could be offensive to your housemates or the viewing public?”

Rourke replied, “Yes, I do. It’s some serious stuff.”

After this, Rourke was let go after a formal warning.

“Further language or behavior of this nature could lead to you being removed from the Big Brother house. Mickey, do you understand?”

“Yes,” Rourke responded. “I apologize. I don’t have dishonorable intentions — I’m just talking smack, you know. I wasn’t taking it all so serious. I didn’t mean any bad intentions, and if I did, sorry.”

Rourke also apologized to the group and Siwa later, blaming his short temperament.

“I want to apologize. I’ve got a habit of having a short fuse, and I don’t mean nothing by it,” he said.”

Siwa replied: “I appreciate your apology.”

Though she admitted that she was still deeply hurt, saying that his behavior might lead to his eviction.

“He said some pretty hurtful things,” she said. “And I think one thing you really have to do in the Big Brother house is care about others. Him saying that flat out today, honestly, made the killer nomination choice pretty easy.”

Siwa continued, “I feel like a lot of the public isn’t going to be too happy with Mickey after seeing how this day went. So I do think it’s possible that he could be evicted from the house.”

However, he narrowly escaped eviction on Friday’s episode, where Tory politician Michael Fabricant left.

However, the situation worsened on Big Brother’s Sunday night episode, where the housemates participated in a pirate-themed challenge.

First, Rourke passed an inappropriate and sexually graphic comment regarding Towie star, Ella Wise, who was left in tears afterwards:

“You can just be someone, but be mindful of what it can trigger in other people, because it’s made me feel very uneasy. I don’t like it, all the sexual innuendo,” she said.

Following this, he ended up in a heated argument with Hughes, though no physical altercation took place. Hughes jokingly stared at him, which sparked Rourke’s anger.

“Step back in line, soldier,” Siwa commands. Rourke then steps out of line to confront Hughes.

“You looking at me?” he says as he looms over Hughes. “Don’t eyeball me.”

Siwa and Hughes remind him that it is a joke, however Rourke does not budge.

“Don’t f***ing eyeball me. You c***,” he says.

Hughes says: “F***ing stand there.” However, Rourke calls him a “c***” again.

As a result, Rourke is again called into the diary room, where Big Brother lets him go, saying:

Earlier today in a disagreement with Chris, your language and behaviour was threatening and aggressive. Big Brother does not tolerate threatening language or behaviour. In addition, you have used inappropriate sexual language to Ella.

Rourke responds: “Yes sir. I did wrong. I apologise. I’m sorry. I can’t take it back, you know, I stepped over the line. And I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing. ‘Cause I lost my temper, and I’ve been trying to work on it my whole life and I wish I would have had better self-control and I’m very sorry.

“I’m ashamed of myself for losing it for a few seconds there. Nobody got touched or hurt. Maybe some feelings got hurt or maybe others have feelings about others getting upset but, you know, I’m sorry about that.”

After repeated warnings and criticisms, Rourke was eventually ejected from the show over his “unacceptable behavior”. Credit: Big Brother UK

He is then told: “This language has caused offence to your fellow housemates and could cause offence to the viewing public. This is not the first time Big Brother has had to speak to you about your offensive and inappropriate language.”

“Big Brother considers your language and behaviour today to be seriously unacceptable and as a result, Big Brother has no option but to ask you to leave the Big Brother house.”
