The seventh edition of the Mission: Impossible series is scheduled to hit theaters in July. It will be the first of a two-part series called Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, with the second part releasing in 2024. Although most franchises typically conclude with two-part finales, like Harry Potter and Spider-Verse, director Christopher McQuarrie has announced that it will not be the case with this series.

According to McQuarrie, the conclusion of Dead Reckoning Parts 1 and 2 does not mark the end of the series. He informed Fandango that they have already brainstormed concepts for upcoming installments.

According to a report by Variety, the upcoming two-part Mission: Impossible movie could serve as a farewell for Tom Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt. This indicates that while the franchise will continue, Dead Reckoning might mark the end of Ethan’s story, and future movies may have a different main character.
