“I’m not in favour of body positivity if it means unhealthy bodies. That’s bull. It’s not believable, so let’s stop pretending,” Minaj told Vogue. She highlighted the significance of embracing one’s body, regardless of its curves or lack thereof, while acknowledging her personal experience with body image. Despite recently undergoing a breast reduction, she stressed the importance of self-love, regardless of one’s body shape.

As Minaj reflected on her previous longing for a more substantial posterior, she confessed, “I used to want a bigger butt, and now I look back and realise how silly that was. So – love your curves, and love your non-curves. There’s nothing wrong with any of it.”

She acknowledged the difficulties of embracing one’s own body, recounting her personal journey of watching a video from when she was 25 years old and recognizing the progress and self-acceptance she has attained.

Minaj added, “I have to say this as a Black woman, though. I’ve made certain choices for my son, to not give him sweets and candy and juices, because of illnesses like diabetes that run in our community,”.

“I’ve had a lot of time to figure myself out. The idea of accepting what you can’t change – it just never clicked with me before. Now I understand,” she shared.

Nicki Minaj is currently working on her fifth album, titled “Pink Friday 2,” which marks a return to her original style. This highly anticipated album is scheduled for release in December and includes the single “Last Time I Saw You,” a song that Minaj describes as having a “happy-sad” vibe. While she intends for the song to evoke feelings of joy, she also acknowledges the emotional impact that it shares with Adele’s music, highlighting the profound ability of music to elicit complex emotions.
