She revealed, in a heartfelt essay, her journey of self-discovery and embracing her authentic self. She added that she always felt a deep sense of belonging and inclusivity in queer community. Labelling her s**ual orientation as empowering, she mentions being identified as queer gives her extreme joy and the feeling of empowerment.
In one of her posts on social media, she wrote,
“I feel like I was wearing a weighted vest for who knows how long. I hadn’t realized how heavy it was until I finally just put it down. This might sound crazy — but I think other people in trauma recovery will get it — I am taking deep breaths again. I can feel my legs and feet. I can feel my feet in my shoes right now. It makes me want to cry and laugh at the same time.”
Sophia Bush is now being spotted with her girlfriend, Ashlyn Harris, a retired U.S. soccer player. Announcing in 2024 Glamour piece, Bush has confirmed her new relationship with the former soccer player and adds that this relationship is built on mutual understanding, rather than the previous entanglement of her marriage, calling it as “profoundly freeing.”
Soon after this news, fans started bashing the celebrity’s new girlfriend, Ashlyn Harris, and called her homewrecker. As Sophia Bush was previously married to an entrepreneur and her over-a-decade-old friend, Grant Hughes. “They weren’t getting enough time with each other before their breakup, but it wasn’t ugly and they are still supporting each other, want each other to be happy, and for their nonprofit to continue to thrive.”
Sophia Bush told the media, the breakup with her ex-husband did give her clarity for self-discovery and vulnerability. However, her decision of divorce did not come spontaneously and the actress had contemplated a lot before she called it off. Although her personal journey coincided with her announcement of coming out as queer, her new girlfriend has nothing to do with her previous relationship history.
