According to science, Robert Pattinson has been crowned the most attractive man in the world.
A scientific analysis of what makes the ‘perfect face,’ revealed that the Twilight is the most handsome man in the world.
Pattinson’s ranking has prompted plenty of people to speak out.
One person pens that couldn’t agree more this man is STUNNING.
“Science is not all knowing!” Another agrees: ‘This is proof of that fact.’
A third questions: “There are billions of other guys in the world. If they haven’t seen them all, then how do they know he’s the most attractive?”
Pattinson himself has responded to the accolade in an exclusive viral video.
The European Renaissance is the source of the Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi, which is founded in the ancient Greek study of aesthetics.
For centuries, artists and architects have used it as a weapon to craft beautiful things per Study.com, Leonardo Da Vinci used this ratio for his famous drawing, the Vitruvian Man, in which he represented the ‘perfect’ human male body.
Today, this mathematical formula has been modified by scientists to find out what makes a person physically attractive.
The Golden Ratio is a mathematical formula which measures the proportions of various facial features.
The length and width of a person’s face is first measured and the results divided.
A face or body is the more ‘perfect’ the closer these ratios are to the number 1.618 (Phi).
From these various points on the face measurements are taken: from the forehead hairline to the spot between the eyes, from the spot between the eyes to the bottom of the nose, and from the bottom of the nose to the bottom of the chin.
These measurements are nearly equal, and a person is considered more beautiful.
Also, the symmetry and proportion of the face are studied.
To be beautiful according to the Golden Ratio, the ear must be the same length as the nose, and the width of an eye is the same distance as the distance between the eyes.
Dr Julian De Silva, a Harley Street facial cosmetic surgeon, created the ranking using advanced computer mapping techniques.
This technology is used by Dr De Silva, who heads the Centre for Advanced Facial Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery in London.
He tells MailOnline: When all elements of the face were measured for physical perfection, the clear winner was Robert Pattinson.
“By applying these brand new computer mapping techniques we can begin to solve some of the mysteries of what it is that makes someone physically beautiful, and the technology is useful in planning patients’ surgery.”
British actor best known for playing Batman and Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise has been rated 92.15 percent accurate in comparison to the Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi, a measure that is said to quantify physical perfection..
His eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, chin, jaw and overall facial shape were found to be closest to the ancient Greeks’ ideal of perfection.
Pattinson came top of the list scoring 92.15 per cent, and was in the top five for most of the other facial features thanks to his classic facial shape and sharp jawline.
But his score did fall slightly because his lips were found a little thin and flat.
Second is Henry Cavil with 91.64%. Dr. De Silva singled out Cavill’s ‘perfect’ forehead, and high scores for his lips and forehead.
While Cavill still performed well for spacing his eyes, he did not score as high as the others.
Bradley Cooper was scored 91.08% overall, and excelled in the eye positioning category.
But he was marked down for the nose and general facial shape.
Brad Pitt is mentioned too, scoring 90.51% as he got praise for his eye spacing but his nose shape was marked down.
While George Clooney has suffered a slight dip from his top position at 89.91%, he still ranked highly, although he showed some natural signs of aging.
