Gwen continues to shine as a remarkable character in the Spider-Verse franchise. The conclusion of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hints at her significant role in next year’s Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Considering the inclusion of live-action elements in the sequel, there is a potential for Steinfeld to bring Gwen to life on the big screen in the near future.

Will Gwen Stacy Appear On-Screen In Live-Action?

There are a few potential avenues for Gwen Stacy to make a live-action appearance in the near future. One possibility lies within the Spider-Verse franchise. The recent film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, cleverly integrated live-action elements by featuring cameos from characters like Venom’s Mrs. Chen and Donald Glover as the Prowler, possibly from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Moreover, the film artfully incorporated archival footage showcasing Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s portrayals of Spider-Man and even gave a nod to Tom Holland’s iteration of the character in the MCU.

Considering, as the Spider-Verse franchise continues to expand with each movie, there is a genuine prospect of Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Peter B. Parker, and the rest of the team intersecting with live-action characters from the cinematic Spider-Men universe. It is plausible that this crossover into a live-action universe may occur, as it was previously rumored that Holland would make an appearance in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse alongside Miles, the young hero embarking on an adventure in the realm of live-action. Although the authenticity of the rumor remains uncertain, it is conceivable that this climactic moment has been reserved for the grand finale of the trilogy.

Gwen Stacy has the potential to make her way into the MCU, taking on a more traditional portrayal of the character rather than Steinfeld’s Spider-Gwen version. At the conclusion of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker finds himself alone, providing an opportune moment for Gwen Stacy to enter his life and help bring back his happiness in Spider-Man 4. However, if this scenario were to unfold, it would mean that Steinfeld, already infusing life into the MCU as Kate Bishop, the new Hawkeye, would not be able to portray Gwen. Nonetheless, even if she doesn’t play Gwen in live-action, the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse proves that Steinfeld’s talents are in good hands within the realm of animation.
