Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava Phillippe is stirring the internet with a very personal element of her life.
Reese Witherspoon’s daughter Ava, by her former husband Ryan Phillippe, has been in the public eye since she was young, always mentioned for her striking resemblance to her famous mother.
Nonetheless, having been compared to this point, Ava has continued working to break her path and define her direction, doing her career and her family’s business her way.
Ava, 25, has built a social media following that talks to her audience.
With over one million followers on Instagram, she has always tried to keep things positive and real in her space.
There’s something special about Ava — she always manages to deliver posts that are impactful and thoughtful, whether it’s in her daily life, or when addressing a huge conversation.
There has been a lot of interest and talk about Ava’s recent candor. One particular question, though, was asked as part of an intriguing Instagram Q&A session, in which fans could ask her anything about various aspects of her life.
Ava was asked by a follower why she likes boys or girls. Social media took notice of her honest and invigorating response.
Ava was simple with her response, “I’m attracted to people!” (Gender is whatever).” Her straightforward response resonated with lots of individuals, specifically those within the LGBTQ+ community.
While Ava didn’t define her s**uality explicitly, her statement rang true for many of these same feelings associated with a fluid approach to attraction. An attraction to individuals without consideration for their gender identity is referred to as pans3xuality.
Ava’s candid coming out soon garnered attention amongst a lot of fans and followers who showed love and support. However, one fan shouted out “Yaaaaaaaas!” Welcome to the club lovely!”
People were also loving her transparency, with them saying things like, “Congrats to you!” Good for you.
She is beautiful, just like Mum. Whatever you want to be is none of my business!! I’ll support you no matter what,” she said.
Ava has earned the support of many for her talent for candid self-expression. Ava’s post may be upbeat, but it did receive some bad comments.
And the day after her announcement, she confronted the issue head-on.
She warned those who posted hateful messages that she wouldn’t stand for any kind of cruelty or hate speech on her platform.
In a statement, Ava wrote: “I can and will block profiles commenting bigoted/hateful messages under my posts.” I do not tolerate cruelty/hate speech on my Instagram page, and I hope to keep it that way. Peace and love.”
Reese Witherspoon has given Ava a lot of encouragement in her following her path of finding herself and embracing new experiences.
Throughout her career, Reese has always been at the forefront of standing up for what’s right in conversations about equality and social issues, especially championing the LGBTQ+ community more than once.
Reese has also talked about her own experience with learning about s**uality in different conversations, saying that she had to research the topic when she was older.
When Witherspoon sat down with Regina King for Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, she explained that she only understood homos**uality after relocating to Los Angeles as a young adult.
Reese explained that “no one spoke to me about s3xuality when I was a teenager.” “I didn’t know what homos3xuality was.” They didn’t explain it to my grandparents.
My parents didn’t explain it. “I had to learn from somebody I met on an audition in Los Angeles.”
Of course, Reese’s open and understanding parenting has allowed Ava to feel confident when presenting herself.
Reese spoke to “Oprah Daily” about what it means to raise a family in the glare of the public eye.
Ava, along with her siblings Deacon and Tennessee, has grown up in a world quite different from her own and was recognized by Reese.
I didn’t grow up famous so it’s an odd situation. It’s an experience that I didn’t live when I was 15 and that my sons didn’t live.”
She added: “We are lucky enough to have friends that grew up in Hollywood, so they can tell them how to go about it.”
At only 25, Ava has already built an impressive career working with some of the biggest brands in the world, including Ivy Park and Beyoncé, Pat McGrath Labs.
Her grounded nature and kindness have earned her a reputation and her mother is all praise for the same.
Reese said she’s learned about her daughter’s own goals and hopes to give back to society.
“Ava is so down-to-earth. Reese added: ‘She wants to do great things in the world.’ “She’s studying, learning, and trying to find herself.”
Fans are interested to learn about Ava’s relationship status. She has been allied with Owen Mahoney, another student at UC Berkeley since 2019.
While the couple has been pretty quiet about their relationship, they have certainly caught the eye with their joint appearances.
Ava has been strikingly missing Owen from her Instagram posts as of recently, so people have been wondering where their relationship stands these days.
Ava’s admirers have praised her for keeping certain parts of her life private and being candid about others.
In honor of Pride Month 2024, Ava proudly shared her identity and her community.
She then revisited her earlier comments about gender in a recent Instagram post. “Some gal once on the internet once said, ‘gender is whatever’ about her own s**uality,” she stated.
‘Many people took her words out of context, but Ava added, ‘she knew what she meant.’ She sent her love to the LGBTQ+ community in celebration of Pride Month and shared a sweet message to her followers.
Ava’s continued journey is part and parcel to continuing to use her platform for positive impact.
Ava’s voice is a beacon of hope in a world where negativity often overshadows all else: as a voice for LGBTQ+ rights and a positive influence on a population that can be excluded or ignored.
But thanks to the constant support of her family, especially her mother, Reese Witherspoon, there’s no stopping Ava from throwing her hat in the ring again, and inspiring others.
She is a leading light, an example, to others on similar paths because her ability to adopt her true self, no doubt, is infectious.
But Ava’s candidness about her s3xuality has, overall, been well received. Alyssa Milano, a public figure also, said, “This picture made me smile so big.” Celebrating Pride!
“So much love for you!” TikTok sensation Dylan Mulvaney said. Ava’s message is highlighted by the displays of support.
Ava’s journey teaches us how important it is to be your own best self, and also how important diverse representation is.
By talking about her experience, she has played a key role in the current dialogue around s**uality and gender identity and brought us all together.
Through her narrative she did what her mother always did — advocacy, advocating for acceptance, equality, and compassion.
Ava Phillippe aligns with her decision to cut her hair in that it remains a clear focus in one of two aspects of her life – personal or professional.
Her transparency and true personality will motivate a lot in the years to come.
